Mountain Horse by Rhineville Mountain Horse by Rhineville
Terrible title, didn't know what to put.

Anyways, this is a Christmas present for my mom. I admit there's no real thought behind this one, I was just trying for a dramatic image with a well-rendered horse. Since this is the first time I seriously tried rendering one out (I haven't drawn a horse for 3 years) I chose to do a direct copy from a photo. I changed quite a bit though, the horse wasn't white so all I used it for was it's values more or less.

Hi!

Thanks for the interest on this piece. This was created with the help of some reference, but unlike pretty much all of my other work I followed the reference almost to the letter. This was created as a present and won't be reused for any other means. It's for that reason that I can't let this be reproduced for any other project, whether it's profit or nonprofit, as I don't own the rightsd to the original photo.

The chances of the owner of the horse photograph finding out is practically nil, but it's mainly the principle of the thing.

Thanks man, appreciate it :) I was torn whether I should leave the background clean or fuzz it up, in the end blurring it a bit helped with focus I think.

Yep the blurring immediately adds a lot of depth and focus from the first glace.
