I feel I may be missing the point, but what's the deal with the hand in the foreground?

Nice painting, though. Did you copy-pasta some of those patterns, or did you actually paint them all?

It was part of the brief that it be an image on a tablet type thing with a hand holding it. Yeah those patterns are mostly copied and painted over, first time I did that with found elements I think. (the curtains were supposed to be specifically damask and I had already spent too much time on the image to do it from scratch.)
